Dr. Gianino and his entire staff are an exceptional team. They have changed my life and my smile forever. Having had a big space between my two front teeth all my life, I either avoided photo ops like the plague or just plain did NOT smile for the picture. In and amongst people, I just chose to cover my mouth if I laughed. Enter Dr. G who explained in detail the entire process of Invisalign from start to finish. Wow! One year later I just can't stop smiling! I thank Dr. Gianino for restoring my confidence so that I can actually smile without even giving it a second thought! People actually comment on what a great smile I have! Who would have thought! I now only see the dentist twice a year but I always feel like Dr. Gianino and his entire staff know me and care about me. They truly are amazing!

I came to Dr. Gianino with severe symptoms. Being phobic of Dentists I had stayed away for seven years, until severe pain caused me to call.

Dr. Gianino and his staff helped me to overcome the anxiety through medication and after multiple root canals and now crowns my mouth is healthy.

Some alignment has brought my discomfort down to about zero. Dr. Gianino and staff have been patient, reassuring and supportive and though my anxiety still exists I will use the tools they have provided.

I will always return for cleanings and treatment if needed.

I am writing this very private account of my situation to make others aware of what is possible utilizing Dr. Gianino's exceptional skills.

When I was sixteen years old I had an accident that caused me to lose my six front teeth. When I would talk or smile you would be able to see silver wires and clamps that held the partial plate in place.

I lost all of my self-esteem. I did not smile with an open mouth or talk in front of others unless absolutely necessary.

I was so humiliated that all those, special moments, in a young person's life were filled with disgrace for me. I have pictures without a smile at my prom, graduation and wedding day.

I changed my career path so that I would not have to speak in person to others. It was a heart wrenching decision, embarrassment over a life long goal due to my dental situation.

Trips to the Dentist were filled with shame to the point that I would cry before going in and after as I did not want to be seen without my teeth, even though everyone knew they were fake.

Then after years of humiliation a very young, energetic, brilliant Dr. Gianino came to my rescue.

Dr. Gianino intuitively knew the very first time I met him that I was uncomfortable in my current state of affairs. He suggested a permanent bridge or dental implants.

Dental implants were not a choice. I had been without my front teeth for so many years the bone loss was significant excluding implants as an option.

Dr. Gianino would not take no for an answer. He and his staff worked extremely hard to resolve this very complicated situation. It took a lot of work and study on his part to achieve the end results which is truly remarkable.

I now have a very natural looking permanent bridge. I can smile again.

I am forever grateful for the transformation he has made in my life.

Hi, my name is Felecia and I am a patient of Dr. David Gianino. I am glad to write this success story to share with anyone who will read it to know how excellent the dental care is at Cosmetic and Family Dentistry, 40 Mass Avenue, Lunenburg, MA 01462.

Just to share with you what my experience has been like, let me go back to the beginning, when I first came to Cosmetic and Family Dentistry. It must have been 2006 when I was first referred to Dr. Gianino's office. Before that time I had always dreaded going to the dentist. My dental experiences in the past had ranged from a number of teeth being pulled through the years - with much pain - to a swollen jaw from a numbing injection that I feared would never return to normal, to an abscess (which I did receive a prescription for) that when the pain stopped... and since I did not have adequate insurance coverage... I just let it go thinking it doesn't hurt anymore so it must be ok. I had also had cleanings down through the years... but nothing noteworthy.

However, let me tell you this! The care here at Cosmetic and Family Dentistry is definitely worthy to be noted! On my first visit I had a consultation with Dr. Gianino to see what condition my oral health was in. Remember that tooth that was abscessed that I just told you about... how I just let it go because it no longer hurt? Well, that was a no, no! Dr. Gianino told me to NEVER let any infection in the body go (even if it stops hurting) because it is still around and it is still doing damage. That infection was damaging my gums and I didn't even know it! Dr. Gianino was so gentle in sharing this information but at the same time he was firm in letting me know never to do that again! I got the message – loud and clear!

Well, that tooth had to come out! You know how it is when you go to the dentist... you are probably like me... you dread getting a tooth pulled... any tooth! There was nothing left for me to do since I could not afford a root canal. So, here we go... the day of the tooth extraction... fear, right?! Heavy hands... feels like your jaw is coming off along with that tooth right... remember that? Well, let me tell you, I did not even know the tooth was out when Dr. Gianino pulled it! Here I was getting ready to brace myself, wrinkle up my face, squint my eyes... the whole works... you know what I mean... then I thought, let me ask him how we're doing! To my surprise, he said, "It's out!" I said, "What?! I didn't even feel anything!" I was amazed – totally amazed! God has gifted Dr. Gianino with skilled, gentle hands! I have never had a tooth pulled that I didn't feel coming out! Oh yeah, I forgot to mention... all of this was done while listening to music of my choice. I could have even watched TV... different huh?!

Now... on to the dental hygienist. The very first dental hygienist I had, I could not believe how gentle and how thorough she was! I have never, and I repeat (I told her this) I have never had a better dental hygienist – so much care and so much concern for the comfort and health of the patient... never rude, never rushy or anything – absolutely excellent dental care! I have a new dental hygienist now and she does the same thing!... and she does it in the same way – with care and concern! In addition, she also educates me about good dental care between visits. She answers any questions I may have about my dental health maintenance. I have learned so much from this practice! I don't think Dr. Gianino would have it any other way! He makes sure his staff is caring people – like himself!

The front desk workers are always very pleasant and polite... they always greet you with a smile... everyone does!... and you know, smiles are contagious!... and when you smile you want to show forth beautiful teeth and healthy gums!

Another thing I like about this practice is that Dr. Gianino practices preventative dental care! They teach you what you need to know and do to have a healthy mouth! If you do have to have more serious intervention you can rest assured he will try the least invasive means first! He goes step by step!... not jumping over into more serious options ahead of time... and he thoroughly informs you where you are in the process towards your goal – which is also his goal – a healthy mouth and beautiful teeth!

My teeth, my gums, my oral health has come a long, long, way! It is much improved from the day I first set foot inside the doors of this practice. I am truly thankful for the dental care I receive.

For the past 15 years I have not smiled. My teeth were a mess and so was I. I could never look at people as I talked to them, always looking down as I spoke. Laughing was something I did only when I was alone, if I did laugh in front of people I always covered my face with my hand. I was never my true self all this time. I felt shameful and like a failure. I had no confidence and because of it I lost out on many special things in my life, some I will never get a chance at again. At 48 I wanted my old life back, I wanted to look people in the eye as I spoke, I wanted to smile at people as they were nice to me, and I wanted to laugh like I use to. My girlfriend who had been a patient at Dr. Gianino’s for some time, told me the team had working for him were kind, not judging, they cared about more than your teeth, they cared about your feelings and your fears. They made me realize I was not the monster I thought I was. I had no idea what I could do to fix my dental problems or how I was going to pay for it. I met Jen, right away she treated me with respect and kindness, showing me the options I had and all the many different ways I could afford it. What I thought was not possible now was. I had a million questions, and kept calling Jen for advice the next week. I met Dr. Gianino and again was treated like a family member. He was a man just like me, he never was negative toward the way I had let my teeth get so bad, it was like he just wanted to fix your life and get back my confidence and pride. Dr. Gianino and Jen took care of everything, everything! I soon had oral surgery and then got dentures. I remember waking up and looking in the mirror, it was me and I even looked happy to me. I could not believe it. 5 Days later I was to play in a golf tournament. I was told it would be a bunch of old friends I had not seen in 20 years, at first I froze, I felt they would look at me in horror. Then I walked into the bathroom and looked in the mirror, it was a new Marc, I was ready to see these old friends and laugh and smile about the old times. This day of golf was truly one of the best days of my life, I was not cowering anymore, I felt great, and I was walking a little bit taller and had my confidence back. How I felt this day is hard to explain, it was peace. I played the best round of golf that day because I felt I could never lose. My life has changed so much since then and because of Dr. Gianino and his team it will only get better every day. I owe getting my life back to Dr. G and his team.
