5th Annual School Supply Drive
Jen Scirocco

Our team at Dr. David Gianino’s Family Practice in Lunenburg, Ma wants to give a huge Thank You to everyone who took the time to participate in our 5th Annual School Supply Drive. It was such a great success because of all of our patients who donated so many supplies.

Our Scheduling Coordinator Tia has put together this School Supply Drive for the last 5 years and has made it bigger and bigger every year with donations over $1,500 in school supplies. She reaches out to all of our patients in our surrounding areas such as Fitchburg, Leominster, and Lunenburg, Ma and ask them if they are interested in helping us gather school supplies for kids that may need a little extra help for the upcoming school year.

The courtesy and generosity that our patients and the people in our community have showed us is absolutely amazing. We are very big on helping and being supportive of our community and when our patients and community help support us is one of the greatest accomplishments.

This year our Office Manager Jennifer and our PR Director Nikki were able to hand out the supplies to Lunenburg and Fitchburg’s Superintendents, so they could distribute them throughout the schools within their districts to the students that needed them most.

The amount of thankfulness and gratitude from these Superintendents was truly amazing. They sincerely wanted to let all of our patients know how greatly appreciative they are for all of the supplies donated.

We are so excited to see what the next year’s drive has in store for us. Hopefully it will be an even bigger success for those children throughout our community. Thank you again to everyone that made this possible.

If you have never had the pleasure of brushing a child’s mouth with their arms and legs flailing while they’re screaming and crying, consider yourself lucky. In my house, wrestling 2.5 year old twins every night to get their teeth brushed and flossed properly is a full contact sport and completely worth the effort. Here’s why:

Oil pulling is a type of Ayurvedic medicine (a traditional Indian system) that dates back 3,000 years involving the swishing of oil around the mouth for 15-20 minutes. This was a way to cleanse the mouth back before modern dentistry had been developed. Now, we can get the same benefits from simply swishing any mouthwash containing fluoride for 30 seconds and go on with the rest of our day.
